Slight Inflow Into SRSP


After a gap of 15 days, inflow begins into Sriramsagar project in Nizamabad district on Saturday. Around 8,435 cusecs of water reached the project from catchment areas of project in neighbouring Maharashtra state. Presently, SRSP reached 1,074.00 feet level as against its full reservoir level of 1,091 ft. Project has 38 tmc ft water as its full reservoir storage capacity is 9o.313 tmc. SRSP officials stopped outflow for Kakatiya and Saraswathi canals. Meanwhile, water is being released to Lakshmi canal in Nizamabad district.
Rains in Nizamabad, Adilabad and Nanded districts for last two days fetched the inflows into SRSP from river Godavari. Irrigation officials expected flood from Maharashtra to fill the SRSP. Meanwhile, they had released water for drinking and irrigation needs through Kakatiya, Saraswathi and flood flow canals so far.
