Three Killed In Road Accident

Three persons were killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a road accident at Ankapur in Armoor mandal on National Highway 63 on Saturday. The incident occurred, when the speeding car in which the victims were traveling rammed a roadside culvert on the village's outskirts. They were returning to Godavarikhani from Shirdi.

The deceased were identified as Surender Rao, 55, his wife Prathibha Rani, 48, and Prabhakar Rao, 56 of Godavarikhani. Surender Rao is a fitter and Prabhakar Rao a dumper at the Singareni Colleiries. According to police, both families went to Shirdi on Wednesday for a pilgrimage and were returning.

Prabhakar Rao, the owner of the vehicle took over driving from driver Odelu to give him rest at Nizamabad on Friday midnight. After reaching Ankapur, Prabhakar Rao lost control over the vehicle and hit the roadside culvert. As result, Surender Rao died and spot. Prathibha Rani Prabhakar Rao succumbed while undergoing treatment.

Car driver Odelu and Prabhakar Rao's wife Swaroopa Rani are battling for life at a private hospital in Nizamabad. Armoor police station house officer Seetharam rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies for postmortem. Police registered a case and are investigating.
